Collaboration & Sharing

As part of our continuing professional development offer, we create opportunities to share the high quality provision in every 嫩草影院 in a meaningful and practical way. In addition to all regular (described in our CPD Brochure), we create opportunities to share best practices and expertise, where staff learn from each other as well as from external experts and consultants.

Collaboration sessions for:

  • Headteachers
  • Deputy & Assistant Headteachers: emerging and experienced
  • Subject leader for English, mathematics, science, physical education and humanities, moderation of writing
  • SENDCo & inclusion leaders
  • EYFS leaders
  • Assessment leaders
  • Safeguarding leaders
  • School Operations Managers
  • Site Managers
  • Local Governing Boards' Chairs.

Curriculum and School Showcases

Over time, we have found that subject collaboration sessions are best celebrated and shared through one-off showcase events. In the past we have run curriculum showcases on music, arts and history (you can see them in the photo gallery below). For the 2024-2025 academic year we have planned:

Writing showcase, which includes:

  • Seeing writing lessons in action
  • Learning about how they structure their writing approach
  • How they provide focus on the bottom 20% of learners
  • How they use TA's to drive improvements
  • How they create independence in writing
  • Seeing evidence of pupils writing from last year that were high working towards and expected pupils but didn't have enough evidence to achieve expected and greater depth and why they weren't able to achieve this.

The PSHE showcase, which includes:

  • Embedding PSHE in the school vision and curriculum drivers
  • PSHE and Skills for Life
  • Decision scheme of work and tailoring it to our school
  • Recording of learning in Skills for Life
  • Zones of Regulation curriculum
  • Tiered mental health provision
  • Picture News.

Speech and Language showcase, which includes:

  • Verbo overview
  • Screening tools
  • Environment audits
  • Target tracking and pupil progress
  • Resources used in action
  • Whole class interventions in action.

Educational Visits showcase, which includes:

  • Developing a whole school approach to residential trips
  • Planning the programme - how to build on experiences year on year
  • Linking to the curriculum
  • Getting staff and parents on board
  • How to make sure that everyone is included
  • Making 嫩草影院 visits purposeful
  • Making connections
  • Benefits to children beyond the curriculum
  • Experiences on site
  • Planning a themed day
  • Community visitors.

Curriculum showcasing

Really useful to meet people in similar roles talking through different scenarios, share experiences is powerful as you normally don't have time to sit and reflect you just have to go on. It is great to have external input and time to think and reflect on our practice. - Emma Fallon, Deputy Headteacher at The Heights Primary School
