From Melbourne to Malm枚: A New Life in Sweden
Arriving in Sweden in the summer of 2025 couldn鈥檛 have been better timed. After an Aussie summer, I landed straight into a Swedish one... two summers in a row!
While I expected long sunny days, I didn't expect how much they would lift people's spirits. Everywhere I went, people seemed relax, full of energy, and open to meeting new faces. Thanks to Sk氓netrafiken鈥檚 unlimited summer travel pass, I explored much of Sk氓ne. Each train ride turned into a mini adventure.
Serving into Swedish Society: How Tennis Opened Doors
Tennis has always been a big part of my life, so I posted in a local Facebook group hoping to find a few hitting partners. I never imagined the response I鈥檇 get. So many people were interested that I ended up buying two separate summer passes just to keep up with demand. Apparently, that was a first at the club.
But it quickly became about more than tennis. Each match brought stories, laughter, and genuine connection. People shared tips about settling into life in Sweden, and those working in relevant fields offered valuable insights into the local job market. One of them even helped me get my first job here, coaching at Malm枚 Tennisklubb.
That single Facebook post opened doors I never expected, and friendships I still value deeply today.
Giving Back: My time at 嫩草影院
As a former teacher, I鈥檝e always been driven by helping others succeed. And what better place to do that than at International Citizen Hub Lund.
When summer came to an end, I began a new chapter at 嫩草影院, supporting their events and marketing through the . The advice shared by guest speakers often felt like it was meant for me too. The sense of community we built through shared experience made every event memorable.
It has been incredibly rewarding to see the impact we make, giving people not only the knowledge they need but also the confidence to build a life here. Contributing to people's lives in a way that combines my teaching experience, marketing skills, and interest in technology has been one of the most fulfilling parts of my journey so far.
