Kick-Start Program: Career support for spouses and students

Have you moved to southern Sweden with your partner, or are you a master’s student planning to stay after your studies? The Kick-Start Program gives you the tools, knowledge, and network to navigate the Swedish and Danish job markets.

International Citizen Hub Lund offers the Kick-Start Program to help you strengthen your chances of entering the job market. The program brings together institutions, companies, and professionals who share insights, inspiration, and practical advice to support you in your career journey.

This program is for those who have moved to southern Sweden to accompany a spouse or partner working in Lund. It is also open to master’s students and PhD candidates within the fields of technology or life science who are interested in staying in Sweden after graduation.

The next season of Kick-Start begins on 7 October 2026.

What is the Kick-Start Program?

The Kick-Start Program offers a supportive and collaborative space where you connect with peers as well as professionals, gain practical insights, and build confidence in your job search.

What you will gain from the program

  • A six-week program with 10 mandatory sessions
  • Practical knowledge of work culture, CV and cover letter writing, interview skills, networking, and AI in job searching

Practical information

  • Sessions are held twice a week during office hours, in either morning or afternoon groups, with one session scheduled in the evening
  • All sessions are conducted in English
  • Participation is free of charge

Who can apply?

  • Spouses and partners of international employees who have been recruited from outside Sweden to work at a company or organization based in Lund.
  • Master’s students and PhD candidates who are graduating in 2026, or postdoctoral researchers completing their positions in 2026, within the fields of technology or life sciences in SkÃ¥ne or Halland.

The program is co-funded by the Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak Cross-border Talent Bridge project.
