Mental well-being when moving to a new country

It鈥檚 not easy moving to a new country for the first time and start from scratch, even if you are experienced. Sometimes we all would like a little support to keep us motivated, open up to our new environment and to be able to enjoy the experience ahead.

We have invited Jernett Karensen, Lic. Clinical Psychologist, who will guide you through experiences and knowledge in how to get used to a new country. You will get tips and inspiration to find your way to stay excited in your 鈥渘ew鈥 life, take action and make changes that make sense to you.

Our second speaker, Tatiana Gr枚nevik, is a Family therapist who grounds her work in systemic family theory and cognitive behavioural therapy. Having been an expat for more than 20 years herself, Tatiana understands challenges of family life as well as parenting when living abroad. She will talk about being an expat parent in Sweden: family life abroad and challenges of expat parenting, general information about mental health care for families with children, child's rights at school and what to do if your child struggles at school (academically or/and socially).
Both speakers will give you tips and support for handling emotional stress and behavioural issues, and at the end there will be time for questions, discussions and exchange of experiences.

Looking forward to seeing you!
